【摘要】:1.1ThemainfocusofthisguideistoidentifythekeyinformationrequiredforUnitedNations(UN)packagingcertificationtoensuretheselectedpackagingwillbecertifiedtotheappropriatelevelforitsintendeduse.ThisdocumentalsoprovidesguidanceforlocatingrelevantsectionsoftheUnitedStatesDepartmentofTransportationTitle49CodeofFederalRegulations(CFR).Consultwitharegulatoryspecialistwheneverneeded.1.2ThisguideisintendedtoassistindeterminingtheappropriateperformancetestsrequiredtocertifypackagingdesignstotheUnitedStatesDepartmentofTransportationTitle49CodeofFederalRegulationsperformanceorientedpackagingstandardsbasedontheUnitedNationsRecommendationsontheTransportofDangerousGoods.1.3Thisguidecoversthetestingfortransportationofhazardousmaterialspackagingsfornetmassesnotexceeding400kg(880lb)orcapacitiesnotexceeding450L(119gal),exceptingpackagingsforinfectioussubstances,radioactivematerials,cylindersandotherreceptaclesforgases.1.4Thisguidedoesnotreplacedomesticorinternationalregulatoryrequirementsforhazardousmaterialspackagingbutisstronglyrecommendedtobeusedinconjunctionwiththoseregulations.1.5TheuserofthisguidemustbetrainedinaccordancewiththeUnitedStatesDepartmentofTransportationTitle49CodeofFederalRegulationsasrequiredby172.700andshouldbefamiliarwithotherapplicablehazardousmaterialsregulationssuchas;InternationalCivilAviationOrganization(ICAO)TechnicalInstructionsfortheSafeTransportofDangerousGoodsbyAir,andtheInternationalMaritimeDangerousGoodsCode(IMDGCode)andcarrierrulessuchasInternationalAirTransportAssociation(IATA)DangerousGoodsRegulations.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatoryrequirementspriortouse.
